About

Emily (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, community-engagement practitioner, and educator.  

As a lecturer in the English Department, her courses center themes associated with American myths and ideologies as they are perpetuated in various genres of nonfiction, popular culture, television, film and new media. She invites students to insert, question and grapple with their own "lenses" (or rich personal histories) during every stage of the reading and writing process.

Emily currently serves in ORSP under Dr. Daniel Malpica as the McNair Scholars Program Research Coordinator wherein she helps Juniors and Seniors achieve their goals of obtainings graduate degrees.
