Graduate Study Opportunity
The SSU English Department offers an English M.A. degree with an emphasis in Literary Criticism, Creative Writing, or Rhetoric & English Education.
Plan early! Applications for the 2024-25 year starts October 1st. The priority deadline for application is January 5th and final deadline is March 10th, 2024.
The English Department offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. Students majoring in English choose one of three concentrations:
- English and American Literature
- Creative Writing
- Single Subject English Education (Secondary Teaching Preparation)
The English Department also offers a Minor in English and a Minor in Linguistics. Students interested in double majors or in combining English with other fields can check in with a faculty advisor.
At the graduate level, the English Department offers an M.A. degree in English, with a choice of emphasis in literary criticism, creative writing, or rhetoric and English education.
